Connie and Steve’s Welcoming Walkout

With three daughters entering their teenage years, Connie and Steve decided it was time to finish their lower level so the girls would have some space to entertain their friends. They shared their ideas with us on how they visualized the space, and we took it from there. Today this lower-level walkout is abuzz with activity. Mission accomplished!

The Challenge

Working with an unfinished space is a welcome challenge for any remodeling designer. Listening to Connie’s plans for their lower level got our creative juices flowing and opened up some exciting floor plan opportunities.

The Solution

Because it walks out to the backyard pool, it made perfect sense to design and build the lower level around entertaining. A home theater and kitchen equipped with everything but a stove is the center of attraction. The space also includes a pocket study area for the kids to do their homework and an exercise/workout area, complete with a locker room and indoor basketball court!
